The year dedicated to celebrating the five-hundredth anniversary of Leonardo da Vinci's death comes to a close. A year rich with appointments, exhibitions, in-depth studies and events that across Italy and the world have honoured Leonardo's timeless Genius.
A complex figure, a multifaceted artist and visionary scientist, Leonardo belongs to history but also to our present and future. Leonardo’s contemporary relevance lies in his approach and method in tackling every aspect of life: his ability to observe reality, interact with the historical context, investigate nature. We saw this this year with the initiatives promoted by Leonardo da Vinci winery during the Leonardo Genius of Wine events and so we can see how, even today, 500 years after his death, Leonardo remains an inexhaustible source of inspiration.
