In 2026 the Caviro Group’s journey is enriched by the entry of Vecchia Cantina di Montepulciano, a historic company founded in 1937. The oldest wine cooperative in Tuscany and the largest in its territory, it safeguards a tradition rooted in the lands that symbolise Sangiovese.

Two cooperative stories, one shared vision.

Vecchia Cantina di Montepulciano safeguards the productive fabric and the network of growers in its territory; Leonardo da Vinci Spa brings vision, structure and market presence. Together they cover the entire Sangiovese axis: from Vinci to Montalcino, from Chianti Classico to Romagna.

For those who choose our wines, this means finding Sangiovese across all its great Tuscan denominations: alongside Chianti, Chianti Classico and Brunello di Montalcino come Vino Nobile di Montepulciano and Rosso di Montepulciano.

Caviro: the strength of cooperation

Caviro was founded in Faenza in 1966, from the vision of nine members, united by a simple and still relevant conviction: the value of agricultural work grows when it is shared.

Today Caviro is Italy’s largest wine cooperative: a supply chain involving twenty member wineries across eight regions, bringing its wines to over ninety countries and enhancing the richness and diversity of Italy’s wine heritage. Leonardo da Vinci S.p.A. represents its Tuscan expression, deeply rooted in the territory and its winemaking tradition.

Being part of a large Group does not mean giving up its own identity. It means being able to count on the solidity of a network that guarantees continuity to growers and allows constant investment in research, quality and sustainability, while celebrating the uniqueness of every territory.
