Paris also has a special connection with Leonardo: some of his most famous works are displayed here and it was precisely in France, in Amboise, in the Loire Valley, that the genius moved in the final years of his life to the court of King Francis I. There he devoted himself to perfecting his inventions and organising marvellous and spectacular festivities for the king’s court.
Whilst the Louvre Museum celebrates the great Tuscan genius with an exceptional retrospective (on display until 20 February) dedicated to the paintings and drawings of the great Tuscan artist, scientist and inventor, at Vinexpo Leonardo da Vinci winery celebrates the genius by telling the story of Leonardo da Vinci and his special relationship with viticulture and wine, which continues to fascinate and astonish. This was demonstrated by the many visitors (there were approximately 30,000 industry professionals from 126 different countries) who during the fair – from 10 to 12 February – participated in tastings at Leonardo da Vinci winery’s stand, eager to taste wines inspired by the Genius.
